For those travelling the South of France, skip the riviera and head straight to Calanques National Park located right off Marseille. We actually unexpectedly stumbled across this amazing gem of France, and I could not have been happier.

Leaving Portugal, we had no expectations as to what the Andalucian region of Spain had to offer or what the landscape was even like; and in my opinion, setting little to no expectations is the best way to travel. That way you are rarely left disappointed, and more usually pleasantly surprised. After travelling through Seville and Ronda, I couldn’t find this more true.

One thing i’ve definitely learnt along the road is that no place is ever as you expect it. I have to confess that sometimes I let myself feel disappointed before I’ve even spent an hour there, and only because it isn’t exactly is I’d hoped and imagined it to be upon arrival – which is so so silly of me! I believe you must stay at least 2 days to really love a city. Because in the end those flaws you judged in the beginning just might be what you love about it, for it gives it its character.
I knew I would be seeing some incredible places on my travels – but when you actually see these places in real life it’s like your eyes can’t actually comprehend what is in front of you. I’m usually having to pinch myself in disbelief. Especially when I saw some of the beaches through the North coast of Spain. Two in particular..
Literally the night before we headed to San Sebastián Kyle asked me, “what do we do during the day if it’s raining?”. I am so convinced he jinxed us and am holding him partly responsible 😉, because the next day we woke up and it was absolutely miserable outside.
